World Most Dangerous Highway - Fairy Meadows, Pakistan

World's Most Dangerous Highway - Fairy Meadows, Pakistan

World's Most Dangerous Highway - Fairy Meadows, Pakistan
World's Most Dangerous Highway - Fairy Meadows, Pakistan

Good morning. We are in the town of Chilas right now. It's a big day, because we're going on a hike up the mountain. We're taking our van to some Jeeps, and then the Jeeps aregonna drive up the mountain, and then we're gonna offload. We have some porters helpingus carry stuff up the mountain. And we're gonna camp out at base camp on one of the highestmountains in the world. So pretty exciting stuff. Can't wait. Wow, Pakistan. You're just full of views. I have never seen mountains like this. I've seen a lot ofdifferent mountain ranges around the world, but none that were just full of barren rock, and so immense, and so many of them.

Our whole drive yesterdaywas nonstop mountains. These stretch all the wayfrom the Himalayas to China, just, they're massive, they're massive mountains. I promise there's a chanceit might break. (laughs) - But anything for the vlog, right? - Anything for the vlog. This is the kinda stuff Iwould do before I was vlogging. If there was a rooftop, I'm gonna try and find out how to get there. And then,- Ninjas. - then vlogging just kinda happened. And you can capture that. (car horn beeps) You got this. - I'm not as brave as the rooftop ninja. (Siya laughs) - [Siya] You got it. Boom! Look at that. - Landed it. (people chattering) - Quickly went to the shopto get supplies for our hike. I got some Gatorade and toilet paper. It's all I need. Okay, the bare essentials.(car horn beeps loudly) Toilet paper is necessity. Especially if you're not used to washing your tush with water, that is an acquired skill. How are you on washingyour tush with water? - I'm a pro.- A pro? - I'm a seasoned butt gun veteran. (Siya laughs) And I'm not too shabby withthe plastic one, as well. The one that you toss it with your hand. - [Siya] Impressive. - Thanks man. - Yeah. We'll get that tutorial later. (upbeat music) (truck horn beeps) - I'm a vlogger.- Really? - Genuinely. Yeah, but I just haven'theld a camera before. - He's a reece. (all laugh) Very new to the game.- This is your initiation into vlogging.- Yeah. (all scream) - What the fuck?- A bit of warning, mate. - Wow, that was a little scary. We were unprepared for the car to move. - And we're off. (upbeat music) - It's mildly dangerousbeing on top of the car. But it's also incredible. Way better than being inside the car. You get a 360 view ofbeing in the mountains. It's phenomenal. Hurts the butt, though. - Just trying to get comfy. Just try to make them fit. (girls scream) - Oh my god.- Whoa. (girls screaming) - [Girl] Don't wreck! - You guys. - Now he's really having a laugh. - [Siya] Hello. Hello.- Hi. (truck horn beeps) - [Siya] Hello, feet in the back.

Who's feet?- I dunno. (truck horn beeps) - [Man] Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.- What's in that? Oh, nothing. (upbeat music)(girl screams happily) - Amazing. (speaking in foreign language) - These Jeeps are from the '40s and '50s, they were bought by the Pakistani army, - Okay. - to use, from the Americans,to use as military vehicles. Then, in the '70s, once it were made we're running out ofaction, they were auctioned. And they were all boughtby tour operators. - Oh wow.- So now the terrain we're going on now, our coaster, the CPIC Pak Tour bus can not go. It has to be this.- Wow, it has to be this Jeep. - Has to be this Jeep.- Very cool. - '40s and '50s these were made in. So we're talking like- Amazing. - 60, 70 years old.- Yeah, really. They're looking good. - Look, feel that. What car, that's made offucking, what is that? - [Siya] Yeah, that's pure steel. (laughs) - [Man Wearing Black] They'renot fucking around, you know? - [Siya] Yeah, I'd take a bullet. - Have you, check thicc.- Thicc Jeep. Wow, that hurt actually. - [Man Wearing Black] Andyou all got the VIP one. - [Siya] Yes. I don't know what that means. But we'll see. Where are we headed right now? - Fairy Meadows. Which is basically the redundantbase camp for Nanga Parbat. But it's the most beautifulone, and with the best view. So the actual one that theyuse for the base camp now is on the other side of the mountain, 'cause an easier climb, butthey used to think this one, Fairy Meadows, was the easiest climb, so we used to climb from here. not been in this area.

just can- Relax. - say bye bye and take off. - Take off, yeah?- Yeah. You will be up there like couple of hours before us.- Fantastic. So make sure you ask themto prepare some tea for us. - Yeah.- For when we arrive there. - I will get your bed ready.- I know you are going to get the best room up there. (several people laugh) First come, first served. - Z, are you taking a horse?- Yeah. - [Siya] And then he gets the best room.- I told Jessica, I'd love to hike,- He said he will. - I love hiking, but Iget sciatica while hiking. - I see.- Yeah. - Z.- Yeah, uh-huh. - That's what they all say.- Boo. - It's our meal before the hike. We have cauliflower, whichis (speaks foreign language). (speaking in foreign language) - Do they have any ketchup?(man speaks foreign language) - Oh, (speaks foreign language) is potato.- Ketchup, yeah. - This is (speaks foreign language).- Oh they do, yeah. (speaks foreign language) - [Man] This is (speaks foreign language). (speaks foreign language) - And (speaks foreignlanguage) is cauliflower. - And beyond.- Even beyond. - Sky is the limit.- That is the limit. - We have started our hike. We're going to the very top. Right behind me. - On top, hike.- So it'll be about three hours.(speaking in foreign language) - Siya, you cheat.- This is Uber Pakistan. (Siya laughs) I mean, when am I gonna ride a horse in the mountains of You know, let's see, whathave we driven for, 24 hours of pure driving at least?- Yeah. - Right? So you gotta put in thework to come see this shit. - [Siya] Right, right. - You guys are probablylike, Pakistani people, I would say, not more than, apart from the people that live here, tourist-wise, I wouldn't say more than a couple of million have been here. So 1% of the population.- That's not many. Yeah.- So you guys are well ahead of most of them. - Nice.- Yeah. - Amazing. (dramatic music) Oh, okay, so this is the most dangerous highway in the world. And I can see why. We only have maybe threemeters before this drop-off, and that is, that's almost 90 degrees, like you're going down, if you veer off theroad a tiny little bit. If you have to swerve, if a rock breaks, like this, there's no surviving that.

You're tumbling 500 feet to the bottom, which is right here. Boom. Glad we're not crossing that bridge. That would be a little scary. Because nothing we've doneso far has been scary. We are so close to the edge. Ridiculous. One wrong turn. Wow.- Or a rock just falls and breaks.- Yeah. - Just, it's over for us. But other than that, it's great.- It's great. It's great. The things we do for adventure. - Starting to make sense why this is called one ofthe most dangerous roads (horn beeps)in the world. - [Man] Oh look at the goats. Watch out for the goats. (people scream) - Just in advance, I'm sorry mom. (dramatic music) - [Siya] Think man, what do you think?- It's fucking crazy. I've never done, I mean, look, we did theother side of Pakistan, but that was the mostintense drive I've ever done. That was like wow, wow.- Oh yeah. You lived, man. We lived to tell the story.- We lived, we lived. Yeah, but we've gotta get back down now.- There's still more adventure left, though. I wouldn't say we've lived yet. - [Siya] (laughing) Yeah. - There's still more to come. - More to come.- Yeah. - Brooke, how was that drive? - That was one of the bestthings I've ever done. So stoked right now.- Amazing. - You love it?- Oh, I loved it. I loved it. It was like part adventurous, part scary. - Part I'm gonna die, butpart I'll be happy to die. - Right, right.- It was like a real-life roller coaster.- Yeah. - Yeah, my stomach feels a little queasy.- A real life roller coaster with no safety barriers,- Nothing. - No one's tried and tested it before, it's a real life roller coaster, you just go and find out. - [Siya] Tell us what's up. - I hope you enjoyed the ride. The most dangerous road in the world. - [Siya] (laughs) We did. - Now we are startingour three-hours hike. And it's a steady uphill walk all the way to the Fairy Meadows. The world-renowned mostbeautiful place in Pakistan. With wonderful views up Nanga Parbat. So we are walking to those cables. In 10 minutes we'll get there, where some hot lunch is ready. - Whoo!- And after enjoying this hot lunch, we will start our hike. Before getting to the cable stairs,- And what will I do when you start your hike? - Well, you Pakistan again? Right, you gotta take advantage. We are going to beclimbing to 3,000 meters. - Look alive!- That is three kilometers above sea level. The other guys in thegroup are making fun of me, saying I'm a deserter, that I'm not doing thehike, that I'm on the horse. I'm gonna do the hike, I just wanted the experienceof riding the horse. I'll just give it another minute. While I relax here. (speaking in foreign language)(horse whinnies) - Okay, so I got off the horse. Walked for about 20 minutes, and I'm back on the horse. Feeling very short of breath, and my backpack is like 30 pounds. I'm not used to hiking in altitude. We hike back home in Canada, but it's not a high altitude. It's like around lakes. So, and it doesn't evenmatter if you're in shape. Altitude affects different people, no matter what your weight, nomatter what your athleticism. I've seen athletes thatcan't do mountains, and I've seen peoplewho are way overweight just fly up mountains without a problem. So we have stopped at the halfway point, people are taking a pee, horse is taking a pee, and let me just be honestwith you guys for a second. I hate climbing mountains. I really dislike it. I've done a lot of mountainclimbing in my life. I've climbed the Himalayas,I've climbed the Tatras, I've climbed the Rocky Mountains, and I just, I don't enjoy it the same way I enjoy hiking through woods at like, at ground level. That's my kinda hiking, even some hills. But hiking like super highup, I just, I can't do it. I'm like catching my breath, and I'm looking down at my feet, and I'm exhausted, and Ican't even take in the sights, because my body has justabsorbed all my energy. So I am enjoying this horse. Put it that way. Hey, I am very impressed. - With what? - [Siya] That you kept up with the horses. (Brooke laughs)You're the only one. No one's come, it's been10 minutes, no one's come. - I was hooking it. I was hooking it. - Some with my sunglasses.- The battle wounds. - Battle wounds.- Battle wounds. - The scars of war. - [Siya] His horse gotkicked by another horse. - While I was on the horse.

You're the one who got kicked? - Yeah, and he jumped up.- You didn't even see. - I saw.- How did you, oh you saw. - You know what happened. Oh let's see, she saw me off, noticed that, what happened. - No, I said are you okay.- The horse got kicked. The horse got kicked.- See, the horse was a female. And the other horse was a male. - Yeah, I didn't get this part, Brooke. - So he was,- No, I didn't get the audio on that one.- excited to see her. - Brooke, apparently theother horse was a horse. (water rushing) - Yeah.- You got it. - I'm off the horse again. On the horse, off the horse. That's our first sign of snow. Once you reach a certainaltitude, you get snow. Snow-capped mountains. Look at that. Beautiful. (rocks clattering) Whew. Okay, so we've now dismounted the horses. And we're on foot. The last little bit of the trek. (breathing heavily) It's tough, it's very tough. Mountaineers, peoplewho hike mountains, my props to you guys, 'cause geez. It's not easy. Okay, I walked about half the way up. The other half was on the horse.

But man, I am sweaty and exhausted. Can't wait to chug like a liter of water. And take off this backpack. Geez, this thing's heavy. But what a gorgeousplace to spend the night. The sacrifice is worth the reward. Right?- Rightly said. Yeah. - We're still waiting on a few of the people thatdidn't take the horse. So they're behind. I just hope they make it before sundown, because it would suckto be climbing at night. I've done that before. It's not fun at all. You made it bro.- Yeah. - [Siya] You made it. You did it!- Woo-hoo! - Yeah, I made it.- Yay. - Killer.- Whew. - These are the cabins we'regonna be spending the night in. Wow. (sweeping music) The word awesome is used too often. That for moments likethis and views like this, get described as awesome, because they create awe and inspire awe. This is what awesome truly means. How crazy was that Jeep ride? That, it was like, it was oneof the most incredible things I've ever done in my life. It was both scary and adventurous, and thrilling, and wewere so close to the edge, but the views were spectacular. I've never done any, my chair is turning. I've never done anythinglike that in my life. And I don't know when I'm gonna have another opportunity todo something like that. These are just some ofthe incredible experiences that Pakistan has to offer. But not a lot of people know, because not many tourists go there. Soon they're gonna open uptheir visa application process, so it's gonna be a lot easier to apply, and to get into Pakistan. But I mean, I hope youguys enjoyed this video. The next one that's coming out is us coming down the mountain. So we're doing all that stuff in reverse.

Then we go to Hunza Valley. Hunza Valley is one of themost beautiful places on earth. It's this tropical little valley. It's this little paradise. I know a lot of you watching are from Pakistan andthe surrounding area. And it's amazing to hear your feedback on the places that we're visiting, and get your comments and interaction, because this channel is worldwide. It's global. It reaches everyone. So I love that you guys are interacting, and we wanna interact with you as well. So let me know in the commentswhere you guys are from, and tell me a little bitabout where you guys live. Tell me about your city or your village. I would love to know, andwe're gonna do our best to read and try and answer everysingle one of your comments. That's it for today's video, tune in next week wherewe head down the mountain. More crazy Jeep rides. (imitates whip crack) And that's a wrap. (bell dings)

#Beautiful islands in the world

*Martinique. Martinique is nothing if not culturally interesting. A French island in the Caribbean’s LesserAntilles, there is a fusion of French and West Indian cultures that you can experience. The island’s scenery has plenty to inspireyou, with gorgeous beaches, botanical gardens, volcanic peaks, and historical architecture. Discover the capital, Fort-de-France; itsmuseums tell the tale of the island’s pre-Columbian and colonial past. Visiting Saint-Pierre is a must, too. This modern city was built among the ruinsof the island’s former capital after it was destroyed when Mount Pelée erupted inthe 1900s.

*Faroe Islands You’ll need at least a week to explore allthe captivating attractions the 18 volcanic Faroe Islands have to offer. Just a short flight from mainland Europe, the island country has been associated with the Kingdom of Denmark, but it is actuallyself-governed. What makes the archipelago so special is thatit’s incredibly underrated and untouristy. Did you know that you can see the NorthernLights here from November to February? Apart from its spectacular scenery of majesticvalleys, remote villages, and jaw-dropping waterfalls, it’s also a popular spot fornature enthusiasts seeking a glimpse of thousands of coastal birds, including clifftop puffincolonies.

*Easter Island Tucked away in the southeastern Pacific, thePolynesian Easter Island is both remote and historically significant. The enormous Moai statues are undeniably thetop attraction here, lending an air of history and mystery to this far-away island. Over 800 human statues with over-sized headsdot the island. They were created by the Rapa Nui many centuriesago, and each is believed to have taken at least a year to hand-craft. But there’s more to Easter Island than theMoai statues. Beauty of Pakistan ! Most Beautiful Village in the World / PAKISTAN

Beauty of Pakistan ! Most Beautiful Village in the World / PAKISTAN

Beauty of Pakistan !Hunza
Beauty of Pakistan !Hunza

You know, I have this memory from when I was a kid There was a this forest out behind my house. I would spend hours and hours there. It was the most beautiful place in the world. And that's how I feel here... Oh my gosh, right now we are driving through these tiny little roads going higher and higher up into the mountains, and there are such, such beautiful lush farmyards out here and orchards so many trees, and bordered in mountains, this is so beautiful! Where are we going now? What is the village called, Munim? - Hopar.Hopar, yeah. These views are SO beautiful!

We're going higher and higher there's no guardrails anywhere On this day in northern Pakistan, we wereon our way to a tourist area nearby And now I should introduce Aqeel.Aqeel was our driver in northern Pakistan And Munim and I quickly started callinghim "the racecar driver" because he loves driving fast! Aqeel also loves music and hopes to be a singer one day. As we were on route, Aqeel asked if we would want to visit his hometown instead, a tiny village high in the mountains.Of course we did. Oh my gosh guys I have come to a fairy tale right now! I feel like I am in a movie set like the Shire or something! This is where people actually live. It's like an enchanted fairytale glen! So I am in a village right now called Hopar Village. We had to drive very far up into the mountains to get here And the views of this place! Oh my gosh, they are... To call them beautiful is inadequate They are just so amazing and stunning. This whole place is just full of these beautifully made rock walls and flowering trees, and grass, and moss And bordered by these massive snowy mountains.

This is actually very close to a glacier. It's the only place in the world where the people live above the glacier and then there's a glacier down below. Walking around here with Munim and- Aqueel Hussein He is from this area so he's showing me around Were you born here? Or close by?- Yes. You were born here? - Yeah. But now we are living in Gilgit. So this is one of the small pens where they keep their animals. It's built of stone. It is actually so lovely. And there are, I think, the cutest calves that I've ever seen in my life, here! - A little girl, she is coming.- Hi! - Do you want to see cow? Is there a cow in here? - Yeah, mother cow.- What... Okay, there's more cows in here.

Beauty of Pakistan !Hunza
Beauty of Pakistan !Hunza

These blossoming trees, they're apricot trees actually, are just everywhere. Oh my gosh this is beautiful! Look at that! I have just heard the most interesting fact about here! So the people's areas don't have any boundaries or fences It's just open to anyone. So actually in allof history, this area has never had a thief come here So they don't need any such thing as locks or fences breaking off their lands And that is just - I mean what what kind of world am I in right now?? Look at this enchanting scenery behind me They're drying their clothes up here with this amazing view of the village. This is where they are storing wood for the winter. We just saw some women that were collecting the wood. It's a grove of... of magic! I'm so happy. This place is... I don't know, it reminds me of maybe what you'd expect to see in super scenic Japan when all of the cherry blossoms, the Sakura blossoms, are happening. or Switzerland or... or Lord of the Rings! Oh my gosh, where even am i right now? This is... this is like a place that you think doesn't exist. Hi! I am here with... what is your name?- Sikawad, my name is Sikawad.

Ma'am, how's your trip? How is Gilgit-Baltistan, people? I love it! It's so beautiful here beautiful scenery and everyone is sowelcoming and nice and and friendly here that's like one of my favorite thingsand I love having chai with everybody It's great!- Yeah, chai is special here. Yeah. Where are you from?- I'm from Nagar (Valley), Gilgit, Pakistan. There are some very rare animals that are in this area of Hunza Valley And that would be - two of them would be the Snow Leopard and the markhor, which we call the ibex. It's a really big goat with these spiraling horns and they actually kill snakes! They're very fierce. And these animals are being protected because they are rare there's not so many of them left in the world, and they exist in this area. So if there's ever time when the Markhor comes and is eating the fruit off of the trees in this village, or say a snow leopard comes and attacks one of their animals then they are not allowed to stop the leopard or the markhor, they just let it eat or let it - I guess take their animals. And then they report that to the government, and the government will refund them the money for the loss of the animal.

But that's just to keep the rare leopards and markhors safe. Oh my gosh. Having chai right now. Thank you!- Welcome. Thank you so much.- Welcome! Chai everywhere I am at a local house right now, they have invited me inside. And this is their kitchen. Actually they originally had an older house, but it was damaged in a flood. So they have now recently moved here. Are you guys okay to be on the camera?- Yeah. You want to say hi? Hi! Hi! Hi! Good to meet you! Hi! Hi! You all live in such a beautiful place! Oh, wow.

I think this must be one of the most beautiful, peaceful, charming, fairytale places I have ever seen. Okay, been exploring the village, now guess what time it is? Can you guess? Of course... Tea time! More chai. Okay I've left the village now and we are driving again through themost beautiful scenery! And Aqeel wants to sing me a local song. So first of all, welcome to Nagar. - Thank you. And I will sing a song special for you. After my song, the boss translate for you what I want to sing, for you. In my song, advice and prayer also mentioned for you. Ok? Oh, thank you! So good!- Thank you! You have such a good voice!- Thank you After Aqeel sang his song, Munim translated the lyrics for me. some of them went like this... Even in times of sorrow, don't forget to live You don't know which moment is the lastmoment of your life Don't forget to live Okay from the village, I have now come to Altit Fort. And it has a lovely walkway into the fort here that's all green with so many trees. And so there's actually 2 forts. And the lower one is called Altit, the higher one is called Baltit. And both forts were inhabited by royalty. This fort is so cool inside! So this wasbuilt 1,100 years ago It is the oldest monument of the Gilgit area. And right now I'm standing in what used to be a guard tower So the Silk Road and the river is right in front of me out ofthese windows here and this fort was used to guard against anyone that wasgoing along the Silk Road because so many people were passing back and forthat this time, so there needed to be a fort here. And this is also where the Kings lived. There's a fort above it that is 800 years old.
Beauty of Pakistan !Hunza Mountains
Beauty of Pakistan !Hunza Mountains

This is so cool in here, and wandering through all of these little passageways and doors. Behind me right now, this is where 600years ago, one of the Kings buried his own brother alive inside Because the brother had started a rebellion and was challenging his power as king - (phone ringtone) Who is that? Not very ancient! (laughing) He did this because the brother had started a rebellion, and was challenging his power as the king. The human skeleton is still inside right now. And it was only discovered recently when they were scanning it. So all of the doors in this fort are quite short. This is the door right here, and I'm not tall. And so my guide was just telling me that the people in ancient times were actually quite tall in this fort So they didn't make it because they were short. They made it because first of all, you had to you know bow your head to go in, which is a sign of respect. But also, if invaders were to come into the fort, then their heads could easily be chopped off. I've just come up this stairwell to thisview of the village below, and all of the fields and the mountains Oh my gosh! Look at this! Behind me right here is Hunza's first ever mosque. It was built about 500 years ago, because with the arrival of the Silk Road and so many traders coming through, Islam was introduced to the area. So inside here is the very first mosque.

At this ancient fort, there was an intense selection process for who would be courageous and brave enough to enter the fort's army, and join their forces. So if you see these two rocks right here, the test would be, that someone would have to jump from that rock to this steep rock! Look - look where it goes! They would have to jump onto that rock and then jump all the way back, and if they were brave enough to do it - and survived of course - then they would be entered into the army.

That is crazy. This rock is so steep. Ihope I can show you on the video. Okay, leaving the fort now. How epic is this place guys?! And look at the views of the river! Oh my gosh. Such amazing stories here! So thank youso much to my guide. What a cool place. I'm so glad that I came here. You know, when you travel, sometimes you think, I've seen so many forts, I've seen so many... whatever, temples, cathedrals. So you think, maybe I should skip it, but places like this...! I'm just really glad that I didn't. Thank you so much, I loved it! You had, you know so many interesting stories about this place. Thank you for your encouragement. Bye! Thank you! Oh my gosh. We are dri - oh my gosh - so fast! Up to this place called Eagle's Nest right now And again, we are driving through the most beautiful villages with all these flower trees and there's mountains and stone and It's a good thing that he is a good driver, because in a lot of these places there's no guardrail, and we're so high up right now Where are we going?

In this new episode of Grip on Trip's 'Dreamland Skardu' series, I'll take you to Skardu City, Budha Rock, Sadpara lake and heart of Skardu, Shangrila. We are not going far today, we'll explore Skardu city. We'll do some shopping and search traditional foods. Besides, we'll visit Sadpara lake in its surroundings. We may plan to see Budha Rock, city and markets...

Before I kick start my journey, let me explain how you can reach Skardu from Islamabad. If you're not on your own vehicle, car from Pir Wdhai bus stand Rawalpindi charges PKR5000 to PKR6000. PKR5000 for back seat PKR6000 for front seat are charged. It will take you to Skardu in about 20 hours. Different companies ply buses from Pir Wdhai to Skardu which include K2 Travels, Kohistan, Mashabrum, etc. Air conditioned bus charges PKR3000 to PKR 3500 and non-air conditioned bus charges PKR2000 to PKR2500. It covers the distance in 25 to 30 hours. In the event of land sliding, this duration may increase. The third method is to reach Skradu by air. One flight of PIA departs and arrives at Benazir International airport Islamabad from Skardu. Not only Pakistanis but Pakistanis and foreigners complain about the high price of the air ticket.

Shangrila |  Skardu & Sadpara Lake

This roundabout was known as 'Preshan Chowk' but now it has been named after the greatest mountaineer of Pakistan, Hassan Sadpara. Hassan Sadpara climbed dangerous and high peaks like Mount Everest, K-2, Nanga Parbat, Gasharbrum-I, II and Broad Peak. His statue has been erected here. Sadpara lake is a dam at the beginning. There are 2, 3 water purifying plants and electricity for Skardu city is produced from Sadpara lake. You can imagine from my voice how quiet and calm this place is. It's a huge and very deep lake. Water color of this lake is opposite to that of Kachura lake. It's an enormous water reservoir. It is 3.5KM long and wide upto 1400 meters. It's water source is Sadpara stream which runs on glaciers water. You pass Sadpara lake on your way to Deosai. Mobile phone signals and a hotel for night stay are available on Sadpara lake. For a round trip from Skardu a car will charge PKR1000 to PKR1200 We are at the starting point of Sadpara lake. The water in those streams is of those streams who run in the way to Deosai.

These streams fill Sadpara lake which is transformed into dam. It is an amazing green color which may not be visible to you due to shade but I'll show you the pictures after editing them. Now we will go down and have breakfast from a hotel. We will take pictures and record video and then travel to Skardu. When there was no dam, its shape was different. I have seen pictures of Gulrez Ghauri Sahab and other senior photographers. Now the water has been stopped for the dame so its shape has changed a little. I will try to share old pictures with you. You reach village Manthal after 3km on your way back to Skardu from Sadpara lake. Turn left and you will see picture of Mahatama Buddha on a big granite rock. I am at Buddha Rock at the moment which is very near to Skardu. On your way to Sadpara lake, you see a board on left side and you reach here. Entry fee is PKR 50. It is known as 'Buddha Rock' and the most sacred relic of Buddhism in Skardu.

Locals told that Buddha Rock is 800 years old. We are back to Skardu after watching Buddha Rock. I am not hungry so I have skipped breakfast. Now I'll see Skardu city and do some shopping. Central Jamia mosque of Skardu is very beautiful. Verses from the Holy Quran have been beautifully written on the walls of the mosque. There is a municipal library on a peaceful place near the mosque which offers thousands of books. There is Polo ground adjacent to library. It is situated on the main road. I am in the largest library of Skardu. There is Kharpocho port on that mountain at the backside of this library. We'll visit Kharpocho fort after this library. Now I am very hungry and will go to Alamdar Chowk. PKR 70 and it costs PKR 100 in Lahore. Looks good. Their soup suggested that the food will be exquisite. It is the best local food so far and the cheapest as well. Soup costed just PKR 70. PKR 200 for rice, PKR 300 for vegetable curry and chicken jalfrezi for PKR 300. How can you get a cheaper food than this? Environment is also pleasant. Normally they do not take much care of cleanliness which is an issue here. This hotel was looking good from outside so we came in. It's time to try traditional Balti dish Mamto which is prepared with spices in meat mince. It is wrapped in flour and cooked on steam. I had checked out of hotel in the morning because my flight to Islamabad will depart tomorrow.

I will spend rest of the day and night at Shangrila resort. It is 20km away from Skardu on airport side. I have planned to spend night there so that I may reach airport easily. The under construction Gilgit-Skardu road will be completed soon. It will get easier to reach Skardu. The ticket price was PKR 300 in 2016 and now I have purchased it for PKR 500. The guy is also laughing who has sold this ticket to me. Let's go. I am really hungry. As you can see they have written that picking apples is prohibited but it's hard to stop myself. Let's eat first because Maghrib will take place at 7:30 and it is 5:30 now, so we have 2 hours. Let's explore this resort and have food. Shangrila Resort was built in 1983. It is a Chinese word meaning 'Heaven on Earth.' The sight of Shangrila gives the same feeling of heaven. Shangrila lake is heart shaped and there are luxury resorts on its banks. It's aerial view is world famous. Shangrila resort is getting commercialized day by day. The rates were so high that I could not live here. I have booked a room in a hotel, 1km away, in nominal rent. When I came here in 2015, people ran after you to book their hotel but now it's season and rush of people. That's why the rates are very high. You'll see a plane in Shangrila Resort which used to fly in the past.

The story of its arrival here is interesting. On 3rd October, 1953 when PIA was not established, this plane of Orient Air flew from Skardu airport and crash landed after 3 minutes of take off. Luckily no life was lost. Owners of Shangrila Resorts bought this plane and established a coffee shop inside. It serves drinks to tourists now. It is good place for honey-moon as it is very peaceful and family oriented. The resorts are luxury and expensive but you can find peace of mind here. If you want spend 2, 3 days, you don't have to travel anywhere, this place keeps you busy. There are so many apple and plum trees. A Big trout of about 2kg has come near me. As you can see a tree full of plums. I have eaten two of them after seeking permission.

They were not ripe but it is a visual treat to see them like this. I love fish crackers. Smoke chicken sandwich. You have served will before 30 minutes. A Lahori and then a Butt, how can he miss Karahi? My 'Dreamland Skardu' series comes to an end. If you plan to visit Skardu, you can take help from my 5 Vlogs. They are available on my channel. In 5 days, I visited 10 places. I went to Katpana Cold Desert and Shigar on day 1. On day 2, I saw the most beautiful waterfalls of Pakistan: Khumash and Mantokha. I spent the 3rd day on Kachura Lake and Sok Nala which was a memorable day. On day 4, I went to see the place where the residents of Skardu go for picnic, Saling Valley which is situated in Khaplu. I also visited Khaplu Palace and Chaqchan Mosque. Besides these 10 places, I also visited Sarfaranga Cold Desert and beautiful Hashopi Gardens. How was my 'Dreamland Skardu' do tell me in comments and subscribe my channel
